The Supreme Court of Fiji
The Supreme Court of Fiji is the Final appellate court of the State and has exclusive jurisdiction to hear and determine appeals from all judgments of the Court of Appeal. An appeal may not be brought from a final judgment of the Court of Appeal unless the Court of Appeal gives leave to appeal on a question of significant public importance or unless the Supreme Court gives special leave to appeal.
The Supreme Court consists of the Chief Justice who is the President of the Supreme Court, judges appointed as judges of the Supreme Court and Justices of the Court of Appeal.
Administration Justice Decree 2009 (No 9) provides that Puisne Judges of the High Court are also eligible to sit in the Supreme Court.
